To be honest with you guys, I stopped counting how many designers used kente and African wax in there collection this year. What I find really unfortunate is the fact that many people see this as a trend that will not stay for long in the Fashion world while for Africans Natives, a kente/wax (call it as you please) is more than a culture, it is an identity, a way of living. With that being said, I present to you the Stella Jean S/S2012 which I found amazingly breathtaking. This kind of fabric is not an easy one to managed and she did it with such brio ! While working on substainable job for people in Haiti, what a SHAME for her not to EVEN cast one african-american model for her runway show... Contradictory ?
